Hardscape - Our hardscape crew can work in any medium to build the "bones" or structure of your garden. We use brick, gravel, stone or pavers laid on sand or in mortar for paths terraces and driveways. We build walls out of native granite in mortar, brick, and fieldstone. We particularly like to build dry stacked fieldstone walls so we can plant in the crevices creating a green, living wall. We use weathered boulders to create a natural look when appropriate.

Garden Structures - We can build arbors, trellises, fences, gates and small decks. We use a variety of materials alone or in combination including, cedar, pressure treated timber, and iron.

Garden Ornaments - Our garden center stocks a large variety of planters, statuary, and unique garden art giving us the ability to personalize your garden and take it to a high level of sophistication.

Plantings - We visit plant growers on a regular basis to seek out the best and most unusual plants available. We maintain a large inventory of plants at our retail nursery and in our display gardens so we are able to show you in advance examples of the plants that will be used in your garden. We emphasize native plants wherever appropriate and we utilize non-native varieties that have undergone extensive testing to ensure they will thrive in our eco-system.

We work very hard to prepare the soil properly to create a healthy environment in which your plants can thrive. We keep up with current research to be sure we are using the most effective organic soil amendments, tillage methods and planting techniques to keep your plants healthy and care-free. We understand that your time is at a premium and you don't want to waste it caring for plants that are not planted properly.

When your garden is complete we provide you with written care instructions so that you know how to water properly, when and how to fertilize, and how to monitor your plants for possible, though unlikely, pest infestations. If you ever have questions about the care of your garden we are always a phone call or email away.

Design and Consultation - Landscape Design Services - Our experienced designer will work with you to create a garden design that is suited to your needs and tastes. We work closely with you to understand the type of garden you like, the plants and materials that you find most attractive, and the amount of time you can devote to taking care of you garden before starting on your garden design. We don't do designs on the spot because we feel strongly that to come up with ideas and solutions that will meet your needs and respect your site requires careful critical analysis and the time for creative ideas to germinate and grow.
 
We want you to have a garden that is not a carbon copy of your neighbors' but one that is uniquely suited to your tastes and lifestyle. The cost for design work in $75.00 per hour. A design for a typical in-town front or back yard usually takes about 4-6 hours. There is a 4 hour minimum. Large properties, designs for both front and back yards or projects with detailed hardscape work will take longer. During the initial meeting you will be given an estimate of how much the design will cost.
